Dementia Alliance of North Carolina invites individuals, families, friends, and community groups to participate in the 2026 Martin County Walk to Defeat Dementia on Saturday, October 10, at the Morris Lynch Recreational Center in Hamilton.
The community event will bring people together to support North Carolina families navigating dementia. Participants are encouraged to form teams with friends, relatives, coworkers, neighbors, or community organizations. Teams of every size are welcome, and no previous fundraising or walking experience is needed.
Dementia does not affect one person alone. It affects entire families and communities. This walk is an opportunity to remind caregivers that they are not alone and that practical, local support is available.
Funds raised through the Martin County Walk to Defeat Dementia will help Dementia Alliance of North Carolina provide education, resources, and support to people living with dementia and their caregivers across the state.
Walk day, thanks to sponsors Eisai and United Healthcare, will feature music, opportunities to connect, and a shared sense of hope. Community members can participate individually or invite others to join them in building a team.
