The Art of Presence: Meditation and Reflection in the Museum

Step into the Museum’s galleries before the doors open for a quiet and contemplative morning of meditation, mindful walking, and reflection. This guided experience invites participants to slow down, settle the nervous system, and explore the Museum as a place of sanctuary, spaciousness, and renewal.

The session will begin with a brief seated meditation, followed by a walking meditation through selected exhibitions. Along the way, participants will pause with gentle mindfulness prompts designed to support personal reflection, embodied awareness, and a deeper connection with the artwork. Rather than offering art historical interpretation, the experience encourages each participant to notice what arises within them through presence, stillness, and mindful seeing. The group will honor noble silence throughout much of the session with occasional opportunities for brief reflection and sharing. No previous meditation experience is needed.

Join Joshua on October 3, November 7, and December 5.
