The Disciple-Making Shift: Two Church Stories
This workshop explores disciple-making through the experiences of two churches, with Wendy Guthrie and Josh Bueno sharing real stories and perspectives on moving toward a disciple-making approach to ministry.
It gives Homecoming attendees an opportunity not only to celebrate MACU’s history, but also to engage with practical conversations surrounding the continuing mission of Christian ministry today.
About Wendy Guthrie
Wendy is a 1982 graduate of Mid-Atlantic Christian University. She went on to earn a Master’s in Education from Old Dominion University and a Doctorate in Educational Psychology from Regent University. With more than 35 years of teaching experience, Wendy has spent much of her life helping people learn, grow, and take meaningful next steps.
Since 2022, she has served as the Discipleship Pastor at Canoe Creek Christian Church, where she helps develop discipleship pathways, train leaders, and equip people to follow Jesus and help others do the same.
Wendy and her husband, Forrest, have been married for 44 years. They have two adult daughters and a seven-year-old grandson. When they’re not serving or spending time with family, they enjoy traveling and exploring new places together.
