Blue Ridge Community College invites qualified professionals to attend a Part-Time Faculty and Staff Hiring Event on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Patton Building, located at 180 W. Campus Drive, Flat Rock, North Carolina.
The College is seeking dedicated part-time faculty and staff to share their expertise and help prepare the next generation of the workforce. Part-time faculty positions are available across a variety of academic, technical, and workforce-focused programs, with day, evening, and online courses offered at the Henderson and Transylvania County campuses.
Part-time staff opportunities include student success tutors and other student support positions. Openings are available beginning as early as December 2026 and January 2027.
The hiring event will give candidates a chance to learn more about available positions, meet with program leaders and Human Resources representatives, and apply for available part-time opportunities.
“Part-time faculty and staff are an important part of the Blue Ridge team, bringing valuable expertise, experience, and perspective to the work we do every day,” said Lorri Allison, Blue Ridge’s human resources director. “We’re looking for professionals who are passionate about serving students and our communities, contributing their skills and knowledge, and making a meaningful impact through their work at Blue Ridge.”
Candidates attending are encouraged to review current job postings and bring the required application materials, including a résumé. Attendees may have the opportunity to interview with program leaders and Human Resources representatives during the event.
The hiring event is ideal for individuals seeking engaging, flexible part-time work. These positions are a great fit for working professionals who want to share their real-world experience with students. For retired or semi-retired professionals, teaching or tutoring can be a rewarding way to give back to the community while staying connected to their field. Recent graduates can also gain valuable teaching experience and build their professional skills.
“Part-time employment at Blue Ridge is an opportunity to put your skills and experience to work while making a difference for our students and community,” Allison said.
